Yesterday, I snuck into the product design studios to hear a talk by Bethan (of Wood London). And it was blinking great. I have been a fan of her work for sometime now and it was rad to hear here speak so openly about it, as well as her thinking and manufacturing processes. Bethan produced the above image by photocopying salami's and hams (that she was obsessed with whilst in Venice) and adjusting the colour output on the photocopiers to produce some seriously gorgeous images, reminiscence of marble (but are just really yummy!). The images below are my favourite work of Bethan's, which came from her obsession with formica and laminate surfaces, come on who doesn't have a soft spot for some pink glittery formica? Her hybrid laminate combinations are wicked, as are the original mineral sketches they are based on. Seriously sick stuff.
